MY STORY
Artist + Writer + Teacher = Designer
The math doesn't lie. The skills I have gained as a teacher, an artist, and a writer are the same skills that I use to create intuitive and beautiful user experiences.

Empathy: As a teacher, I learned to empathize with my students in order to understand each individual student need. This skill is central to my designs, as I empathize with the user and seek to understand their needs before designing creative solutions.

Principles of Design: Through years of art-making, most recently as a watercolorist, I have developed proficient literacy in the principles of art and design. I use these skills not only to make my designs beautiful, but also to guide the user's experience as they navigate the interface with ease.

Storytelling: My habit of writing daily, usually in the wee hours of the morning with a cup of coffee close by, has paid off in the first draft of my first novel. Beyond those sacred morning hours, storytelling is a skill that I rely on when creating user experiences. Stories are powerful, and the right one can inspire, encourage, and motivate any user.
