A Homepage for Jeane
A homepage that is easy to understand with logical navigation, grouping, and a stunning visual appeal is just what BakeWise needed to reach their target audience, a group of tech-savvy women represented by the following persona.

Jeane is a woman in tech, enjoying the challenges and rewarding accomplishments of her career. She is also a grandmother of 4, mother of 2, and an active member of her local community. She loves to entertain and dazzle her colleagues, friends, and family with her delicious and tasteful bakes. She also loves to use the latest tools and gadgets to make baking foolproof.

Jeane needs to use the site to find new recipes and tools that will uphold her reputation of flawless baking and make the job easier.

LAYOUT
This layout features an easy to use navigation bar, a convenient sidebar that puts the user one click away from browsing recipes of a desired type, and a compelling main section that guides the user's eye toward new recipes and tools.
I created this design with accessibility as a top priority. The body copy is a sans serif font with a high x-height and medium contrast, with additional spacing between letters and lines to aid legibility. The design uses white space around each blog post to clearly define the space without adding additional visual information. I also created the design to feature an ideal contrast ratio, with muted colors and balanced values. The clickables are extra large and easy to click and the entire page feels spacious with room for the eye to breathe.
BRAND IDENTITY
Elegant and Sophisticated
I used a striking Didot font face and dramatic black and blush color scheme to bring the sophisticated appeal of high fashion to baking. These elements are softened and complemented by the elegant lace-inspired rose pattern.
